I've noticed a bug where if the player zooms all the way out and tries to select the ships, the green selection box does not appear near the ships at all. It's shown at the bottom-right for some reason. I'm playing the "AI War Collection" version with the DLC. Is there a way to fix this bug?

Here is a screenshot of the bug. The screen is zoomed out. The "RightAlt" at the top-left is the cursor, but you can see the selection box is nowhere near it. The selection bug is at the bottom-right. This makes it very confusing trying to select ships. The OS is Windows 7 and the resolution is 1440x900 windowed.

The best way to report bugs is through Arcen's bug report system. It's very actively managed.

As the link above states, you can also use their Tech Support forum, but if it's a bona fide bug, the place to report it is on their Mantis.

I must confess I never saw this happen before. I think this might be connected to the resolution you are using and also windowed mode. I think some bugs are to be expected since this game was partly rebuilt to fullfill drm-free criteria. Did you try to play it without the windowed mode and switch to full screen mode.

I had tried other resolutions and full screen mode, but the selection bug was still there. Unfortunately now I can't even play the game anymore since it keeps returning error messages every time I try to start it up.

I don't know nothing like that ever happened to me and I am using a WIN 7 64 bit for most games and also had this game since 2009 and never had issues with it. You really should submit the bugs on the Arcengames Mantis and also contact gog support so that they try to help you out. If not you still have the option to use gogs 30 days money back quarantee. Do you by any chance use a laptop to play the game since most problems in games usually occur from wrong drivers or hardware incompatibilities?

Do submit also your full pc data and game crash data to the developers so that they can help you out.

It seems this bugs were brought about with new gog version since as much as I know they never occured in the steam version of the game.

This bug is fixed in version 8.0 of AI War, please make sure to run the autoupdater once you install the game (this is for anyone reading this. IronArcturus please check your PM regarding a different issue :) )

Yeah, v8 did fix the selection problem! Will GOG be able to get this patch soon on their own site?

I doubt we are going to have standalone patches as there will more than likely be updates released constantly so we'd always run the risk of having a patch go out of date on our site very quickly.
Same problem on Linux and in 2017 !
GOG. please fix this annoying bug!

i honestly doubt that would be the case now, since the latest game version is close to 1 year old.

regardless, shouldn't GoG always have the latest game files for download??

i know you do for all your other games. doesn't seem that much to ask to have an GoG update for a games we bought instead of risking the chance of the game updater not working, or the devs decide to cut down their servers.
