Okay, so i was wanting to ask on these forums, does anyone remember more versions of Jazz jackrabbit than 1, 2, and holiday hare? Cause' as a kid I vaguely remember my folks buying various copys of jazz jackrabbit games for me that had levels that where not holiday hare or the original. one i had on floppy was 'wierd' it was jazz, but most if not all the stages where desert themed, and i also remember having a very distinct Christmas jazz game as well that was not 'holiday hare'... Is what i'm remembering from my childhood homebrew, or Jazz being sold under another seller/liscense.. or worse!?, perhaps even something illegal at the time? As a 4 yr old I definitely didn't understand such concepts If anyone can educate me on this, that'd be great because I have always pondered on this in my adult years....

Thanks!

just some old gamer,

Edit: just for the record, these where jazz 1 based games on ms-dos.. They had nothing to do with jazz 2.

There were indeed different releases for Jazz 1, with additional levels.

The shareware release (which was available on floppy) had just episode 1. The full retail floppy version had 6 episodes. The original CD-ROM version added 4 more episodes, and a later updated CD version added Holiday Hare '94. Then there was a standalone free version called Holiday Hare '95 with a different set of Christmas levels.

As far as the desert themed level... Jazz 1 does have a desert world in the extra CD missions. I believe one of the Jazz 2 episodes also starts in a desert world. So, you might be remembering either of those.
