[MOD] LockNot. Keep your old buildings in Modern Times.
by DarthPresidente, Tinkerer

What it can do:
. Change the year a modern time building becomes available
. Keep old buildings available after the Modern Times building becomes available.
Old buildings are accessed by holding down the SHIFT button while clicking on the category in the build menu.
. Impose a retrofit cost in the form of a blueprint on the old buildings. This does not affect buildings already built.
. Impose an additional cost on older buildings

All of the above can be easily altered by editing the mod's config section.
The default config does not change the start year for buildings,
allows all the old buildings, imposes a retrofit and build cost of about 25% of the building's original cost.

To Use: Place the file LockNot.lua in your Tropico 4\Game folder. You may need to create the "Game" folder.

Relevant information from your game's log files stored in:
"%appdata%\Tropico 4\logs"

Files:
. Mod File: LockNot.zip: https://tropicomodding.org/download/file.php?id=372
. Alternative file: LockNot-NoAddedCost.zip:
config section changed so there are no retrofit or added cost to old buildings.

This should be sticked!..

EDIT: thanks Clisair for the changed link

I notice a number of his other mods no longer have working links, anyone know where to get them from (things like NoBells and NoFireAlarms etc)?

Edit: nevermind, if you don't go into the individual mod threads and just use the download link given in that second link of yours, you get the correct files to download :)

We must no longer buy Kalypso products. They don't patch broken game and remove old ones.
I've found this, however:

I edited the links of 1st post.

( NotLock is one a main mod for T4, you can find a good list here:
https://tropicomodding.org/mod-archive-f16/ )
EDIT: I changed the links, as Kalypso has abandonned the game.
Was wondering about the "Game Folder" do you mean the directory or create a "Game Folder" in the game directory?
Thanks for this!

DarthPresidente meant an actual folder named "Game" (in the "Tropico 4" game folder).

OK I will need to create it then. Does it put things in the menu or just make the changes mentioned? . Thanks

LUA files in the folder \Game directly change the game, without warning.
You must remove all files here to return to the vanilia game.
I know it has been a while but here is the updated link for Darths mods for Tropico 4
