I ran the Tropico Reloaded game once. During that session, I tried to change the resolution. Now, forever more I cannot get the game to run at all. Now getting ... Error.... Failed trying to set screen. Set to 640 x 480 x 16 bpp. Have tried everything I can think of. Uninstalling, refund game, redownload, deleted all of Gog, nothing works. HELP! Windows 10.

When you tried to change to resolution and it can't do it the game will try and set to its default resolution of 640X480. Now the issue is that most modern monitors do not support this resolution and it will cause the game to stall.

The issue is that the configuration file that contains the resolution setting does not always get deleted when you uninstall the game. That can lead to the game permanently being unable to be playable. You have to find and delete this setting in the configuration folder. I'd suggest deleting the tropico folder for this game as I believe that this configuration is stored in the folder and is not deleted upon uninstall.

The offending file is tropico.cfg

First of all, .cfg files are no longer in any of my Tropico games. They are called .ini now. I no longer see .exe file either. They are now called Applications. I had this stupid game running last night, but upon what I believe to be the culprit, Edge crap downloaded and now it doesn't work again. I have never seen such problems with one game before! What can the company do to help its purchasing gamers???
