For some reason, I can't get AI War Collection to load up anymore. I'm using Windows 7 and every time I try to load it up it returns a bunch of errors such as "DuplicateHandle failed" and "The exception Breakpoint." I've attached screenshots.

Please use Arcen's bugtracker for these kind of reports :)

Also, and I know this seems obvious, but have you tried uninstalling and re-installing the game?

Reinstalling doesn't seem to help. But is there no way I can get this fixed on GOG? Are any of the developers that made this game on GOG that could help me out?

We've had requests by Arcen to direct anyone with a bug in any of their games to their official bug tracker

I doubt any of the developers are up at this time of the night (It's nearly 1 AM here in Europe :) )

Since I don't have an account on there, would it be possible for someone who already has an "Arcen" account to post this bug for me?

I know that creating yet another account is a PITA but it's the fastest and most effective way to bring this problem to the attention of the devs :)
Okay. I've experienced what certainly sounds like your bug and this is how I dealt with it. First, this is not a GoG problem, the exact same thing happened with my Humble Bundle version and seems to be entirely due to the newest update asking for more networking permissions and Window Firewall throwing a hissy fit over it. You need to add a new exception to Windows Firewall, plus possibly whatever other firewall programs you are using.

I hope that gets you through this.

I don't use Windows FW, but I told my firewall to not allow the game to go online since I just wanted to play singleplayer. Is this a problem only with the Windows Firewall?

The output_log.txt file is too large to paste so here is the last part:

Sigh.

It seems I jumped the gun and I didn't solve the problem. At least not entirely. It still crashes on load up every two out of three tries, both GoG and HB.

It's looking like we got a Steam update, and since we're not using Steam the update is not letting us load the game because we are such dirty dirty pirates.

And from now on whenever anyone asks how I can possibly think ill of Valve, I can point to this crap, so it's not a total loss.

Edit Okay, we're deep into voodoo territory now. Sometimes it runs for me. Sometimes it doesn't and I have exactly zero idea as to the reason why beyond it not being purely a GoG version issue as my HB version is also experiencing this.

Do the devs of AI War know about this bug? It seems to be affecting a lot of people.
From the Arcen games bug tracker:

[AI War] Crash when starting game - GOG Version
[All Projects] Crash/Exception - Aug 19, 2014 7:31 am

So I think we can all thank Greywolf for taking the time to report this and working with the devs to get to a solution.

EDIT: Hmmm... italics were working yesterday...

They don't like
line breaks. A set for each line.

Alternatively, blank quote:

I'm glad the devs are working on it! Do you have a link to the page?
