SirPrimalform: That still doesn't really help people keep backups... Why not just update the installer periodically? Maybe every couple of months or something.
The game as it is, is now distributed to publishers like GOG or Steam, or anyone else, in the form of ZIP files. It's effectively a portable game, it keeps within its own folder, requires no activation or registry hooks, nothing.

You can zip up your current copy of the game, and you have your archive, your backup. Install the game, update it through the updater, zip it up, extract it later, there you go. It's exactly the same as if Arcen had updated the installer, minus a lot of work on their end.

There's literally nothing else Arcen could do to make it easier for you, while also publishing the frequent/infrequent updates to this game in as maintenance-free way as they can.

Good to know, thanks.
